Sediment Filtration
Sediment Filtration in Sunnyvale
Grit and rust protection for older Sunnyvale homes and wells in the surrounding hills.

Why sediment protection pays for itself
Sediment filtration in Sunnyvale protects the rest of your plumbing. Older homes with galvanized service lines shed rust flakes that clog aerators and toilet fill valves. After water main work, city water can carry grit for a while. Foothill wells pull sand whenever the pump works hard.
A sediment filter is the cheapest stage in any system and the one that protects the most expensive parts: carbon beds, softener valves and RO membranes. We choose between a flushable spin-down screen and pleated or spun cartridges based on what is in your water and how much of it.
Sediment also shows up as symptoms people do not link to water: a dishwasher inlet screen that clogs, one bathroom with weak pressure, a toilet that keeps running. Worth checking before replacing an appliance or a valve.
The other trigger we see often is a remodel. Re-piping a kitchen or bathroom stirs up scale and debris in old lines for weeks afterwards, and that debris lands in brand-new faucet cartridges. A sediment filter fitted before or right after the work protects the new fixtures, and we can remove or downsize it once the lines settle. Ask about it if a renovation is on your calendar. Cartridges are inexpensive, and the gauges make it obvious when one is due, so this is one stage most owners maintain themselves.
