Sunnyvale Water Filtration With the Spec Sheet on the Table

Most water companies sell a box and a feeling. We hand you the numbers: what is in your water now, what the system removes, how fast it flows, how long the media lasts and what it costs to run. Then you decide.

What goes on every quote we write

Six lines, filled in for your house, before you agree to anything. If a company cannot tell you these, they are guessing.

Measured at your tap
Hardness, chloramine, TDS, pH and iron, with the actual readings written down.
Rated flow
Gallons per minute the system delivers without a pressure drop, matched to your bathroom count.
Certification
The NSF/ANSI standard each filter, membrane or media is certified to, by name.
Media and cartridge life
How many months each stage should last at your household's usage.
Running cost
An estimate of yearly cartridges, salt and water, so the cheap system is not secretly the expensive one.
Install scope
Where it goes, what we cut in, how long it takes and what is included in the price.

Water treatment systems for Sunnyvale homes

Why Sunnyvale households pick us

Silicon Valley is full of people who read datasheets. We write ours for them.

  • Numbers before opinions

We measure first and recommend second. If your readings say you do not need a softener, that is what you will hear, and you keep the readings.

  • Chloramine handled properly

Bay Area water is typically disinfected with chloramine, which ordinary carbon struggles with. We size catalytic carbon by contact time, so the taste does not creep back after a few months.

  • Honest running costs

A cheap system with expensive cartridges is not cheap. Every quote includes a yearly running-cost estimate, so you can compare options on the total, not the sticker.

  • Installs that respect the house

Eichlers, condos and 1950s ranch homes all plumb differently. We plan the route, protect the floors and leave the space tidier than we found it.

  • Service that shows up

Cartridge changes, membrane swaps and repairs come from the same team. Call (408) 831-7890 and you speak with the people who did the work.

From first call to clean water

Three steps, usually spread over one to two weeks depending on your schedule.

  1. Measure

A technician reads hardness, chloramine, TDS, pH and iron at your kitchen tap and looks at the plumbing where a system would go. It takes about half an hour and the numbers are yours.

  2. Specify

You get a one-page spec sheet with the recommended system, its rated flow, certifications, media life, running cost and price. If two options make sense, both are on the page.

  3. Install and verify

Installs take one to four hours for most homes. Afterwards we read the water again at the same tap, so you can compare the two sets of numbers yourself.

Sunnyvale first, then the rest of the valley

We schedule by neighborhood along El Camino Real, Central Expressway and US-101, which keeps arrival windows short from Palo Alto to Milpitas.

Routes, not random calls

Visits are grouped by area each day. When we are already in Cupertino on Thursday, your Thursday window there gets tighter.

Traffic-aware timing

We know when 101 and 85 lock up. Windows are set around real commute patterns, not a best case.

Same team across the valley

Sunnyvale or Saratoga, same spec sheet, same pricing, same technicians. (408) 831-7890 reaches all of them.

Common questions from Sunnyvale homeowners

If yours is not covered, call (408) 831-7890 and ask a technician directly.

Where does Sunnyvale's water come from?

Sunnyvale draws on more than one supply, including imported water from regional wholesalers and some local groundwater, and the blend can shift with the season. That is why hardness readings in the same house can change during the year, and why we measure at your tap rather than quote from a table.

Is Sunnyvale water hard?

It varies with the blend. Sierra snowmelt is naturally soft, while local groundwater is harder, so a reading taken in one season can differ from another. Many homes land in the moderate range. We will tell you where yours sits and whether a softener is worth it.

What is chloramine and why does it matter?

Chloramine is a longer-lasting disinfectant that many Bay Area utilities use instead of plain chlorine. It keeps water safe in long pipe networks, but it is harder to filter. Removing it at home takes catalytic carbon and enough contact time, which is why we size carbon systems by flow rather than by tank size alone.

Do I need a softener, a filter or both?

A softener deals with hardness minerals and scale. A filter deals with chloramine, taste, odor and certain contaminants. Many Sunnyvale homes need only one. Your readings decide, and both options appear on the spec sheet when both make sense.

What does a whole-house system cost to run?

It depends on the system and your usage. That is exactly what the running-cost line on our quotes is for: yearly cartridges, media, salt and water, estimated for your household. Compare totals, not sticker prices.

Will reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?

Every RO system sends some water to the drain while it makes drinking water. Modern systems are far more efficient than older ones. We list the expected ratio on the spec sheet and choose units that keep it reasonable.

Can you install in an Eichler or a condo?

Yes. Eichlers often have limited utility space and unusual plumbing routes, and condos come with HOA rules. We look at both during the measuring visit and plan an install that fits, including compact or wall-mounted equipment.

How long does installation take?

Under-sink systems usually take one to two hours. Whole-house filters and softeners usually take two to four. You will have water back on before we leave, and we re-read your water at the tap before we go.

Do you service equipment you did not install?

Yes. We change cartridges, swap RO membranes and rebuild softener valves for most major brands. If a part is no longer available, we tell you and price a replacement.

How often do cartridges need changing?

Sediment cartridges often every three to six months, carbon every six to twelve, RO membranes every two to three years. The exact intervals for your system and usage are written on your spec sheet.

What makes valley water worth measuring

Water in this part of Santa Clara County is safe and well treated. The questions people bring us are about everything around that: the chloramine taste in the kitchen, the white film on a glass shower door in Cupertino, the scale building up in a tankless heater in a Sunnyvale townhome, the coffee that tastes flat no matter which beans you buy.

Each of those has a different cause and a different fix, and the right answer can change with the season as the supply blend shifts. So we measure, write the numbers down, and only then talk about equipment. If the numbers say leave it alone, we will say that too.

That approach also protects you later. When a system has a written spec sheet, anyone can check whether it is still performing to it, years from now, whether that is us, another company or you with a simple test kit.

A Sunnyvale team that shows its work

Sunnyvale Water Filtration installs and services water treatment for homes and businesses across Santa Clara County.

We built the company around a simple idea: people who are going to live with a system for a decade deserve to see its numbers first. The spec sheet came from that.
